This painting is taken from the feeling and atmosphere of being on the Waternish Peninsular in Skye on a very wild and wet day, the mist was down and things were half seen and the landscape took on an ephemeral quality. The quality of light was low but the beauty of the place was so apparent in the wild atmosphere.
